Open Meet & Greet Dates

Due to staffing and dog capacity issues, Meet & Greets are currently appointment-only. Please email or call to set up your appointment.

Dogs that will be available to be met will be posted on our Facebook page the morning of the open meet date.

Open Meet & Greet Guidelines

One family at a time, 30 minutes maximum per family

Potential adopters must sign in with their phone number and then return to their car until they are contacted.

If references can be verified that day, they may adopt and take home a dog. Most potential adopters will make a deposit on the dog and complete the necessary paperwork until after references are checked.

Open Meet & Greet FAQ

  • What is our Open Meet & Greet?
    • An opportunity to come and meet up to two dogs on a designated day, without needing to go through the formal application process to schedule a meet & greet.
  • Will I be able to adopt a dog that day?
    • Perhaps. If you have an application on file that has been approved, (you have spoken to a coordinator on the phone, and references have been verified) then it is possible to adopt and take home a dog that day. If not, an application will need to be submitted and you may complete the adoption process and take the dog home after your application has gone through the approval process.
  • May I fill out an application prior to the Open Meet and Greet date?
    • Yes! Please submit your online application prior to the day of the Open Meet and Greet. We will do our best to conduct the references prior to the Meet and Greet date. On the application where it asks “Which dog were you interested in?” simply write “Open Meet and Greet”.
  • How will I know what dogs will be available to view at the Open Meet and Greet?
    • Dogs that will be available to view will be posted the morning of the Open Meet and Greet date on our Facebook page.
  • What should I expect at the Open Meet and Greet?
    • When you arrive there will be a table with a signup sheet on it. We will place the sign-up sheet outside at 11 am for the select Saturday meet and greets, and at 2 pm for Thursday afternoon meet and greets. You will be asked to provide your cell phone number so we can reach you and let you know when it is your turn to meet the dogs. Meet and greets will be conducted with one family at a time in the order in which they signed up. We ask that you stay in your car after signing up, or wait outside in our Adirondack chairs. We will call you when it is your turn to meet the dogs. Meet and greets will last a total of 20 minutes with the dogs and 10 additional minutes for paperwork and/or to answer questions.
