Uno arrived at the shelter mid-2024 as a one-year-old with an untreated injury that had caused multiple fractures in his left rear leg. Because the bones healed improperly, he lived with chronic pain and limited mobility.

With community donations designated for his medical fund, Hood River Adopt A Dog partnered with All Animal Care Clinic and Veterinary Surgery and Sports Medicine of the Gorge to provide specialized treatment. Uno ultimately underwent a rear-leg amputation, a procedure that relieved his pain and restored his mobility as a confident, capable tripod dog.

He remained in the shelter’s care for nearly a year as he recovered and gained strength. Throughout that time, he became a favorite among staff and volunteers.

In August 2025, Uno was adopted into a permanent home. HRAAD thanks All Animal Care Clinic, Veterinary Surgery and Sports Medicine of the Gorge, and the donors whose support made his recovery—and his new beginning—possible.
