Mila was an owner surrender that came to us in such poor condition that she was at risk of being euthanized. Mila had an infection so severe that the bones on her back foot were exposed. Laura, our Director of Operations, took the call for Mila on a Friday night and went out of her way to pick up this dog to ensure she got the proper care needed.
This was a very medically complex case that required weeks of careful treatment and ongoing care provided by Laura and our volunteers. Mila’s care required multiple bandage changes each day over the duration of about 4 months. She is now close to full recovery and has been adopted by a loving family. This was one of our most complicated medical cases.
