Our buddy Pops was found badly injured from a likely coyote attack. Unable to walk and clearly in pain, X-rays revealed multiple pellet gun wounds and he was also suffering from severe glaucoma that left him completely blind and in significant discomfort.

Our team worked to stabilize Pops and nurse him back to health – and thanks to the incredible support of our shelter staff and community, he found amazing foster homes who covered the costs of his initial recovery while Pops continued to heal and show just how resilient and trusting he is.

Because of the level of pain caused by his eyes, we made the decision to remove both eyes so he could finally be comfortable. His amazing foster family paid for the surgery out of their own pockets – then officially adopted him!

Pops is now pain-free, off all medications, and navigating the world with confidence and heart. Stories like his remind us why we do what we do.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in giving this sweet old man the life he deserves!
